Exhibition Constantine Pavlovich Janov (1905 - 1996), which opened on May 12 in the representation of Rossotrudnichestvo in London, continuing one of the trends emerging in the modern exhibition business: the desire to draw the viewer's attention on the artists, for various reasons, are not included in a series of often-mentioned, exhibited and cited, whose work, however, creates a certain field, the existence of which is essential for the development of art.
The daughter of the artist, who was present at the opening ceremony, said that her father loved London on the reproductions and stories, but I could not come here. So she decided to thus pay tribute to his father and his work - to bring the work of the artist in a place that he wanted to visit.
Constantine Yanov was born in Poland, his childhood spent near the Manor Radzivilov, where he lived and worked ETA Hoffmann. Draw started early, at age 13 he moved with his father in Petrograd and immediately enrolled in drawing classes Society for the Encouragement of artists at the Academy of Arts. Janov was studying with his son Kustodiev, Yury Vasnetsov, Valentin Kurdova, George Traugott, Leondom Karateeva, Vasily Kuptsov and Israel Lizak. Students said Konstantin perhaps the most talented on the course, the professor predicted a bright future.
But the special non-traditional view of art was not welcomed in the 20s. Janov wrote in "rootless cosmopolitans" and finish my studies was not given. He was a stranger as an emerging social realism and avant-garde movements of the time. Konstantin Pavlovich began working as an artist at the studio "Belgoskino", which later split into "Lenfilm" and "Lennauchfilm." There is already in the position of director of scientific cinema, Konstantin Pavlovich worked right up to the 80s.
He drew a lot of pencil, charcoal, paint: often on scraps of newspapers, and 70-80 - on computer paper. Unfortunately, many of the works of K. Yanov lost: some died in the siege, some was sold to unknown owners. Some early work 20s are in Italy, in the gallery "Capitani"; Some works are in private collections in Russia, Italy and Germany.
Konstantin Pavlovich really wanted his work has been exhibited and have been seen. Several chamber exhibitions were held during the life of the artist in the House of Cinema, at the studio "Lennauchfilm." In 1985 finished, has mounted an exhibition in the theater "Baltika" was banned - for failing ideological norms of the time. The first posthumous exhibition was held in the premises LOSHa (St. Petersburg Union of Artists) in winter 2011-12. Two small exhibition successfully took place in Berlin in 2012 and 2013.
Today's exhibition Constantine Janov is almost complete retrospective of his works - from paintings 20s and ending late gouache late 80s
