Exhibition at the Exhibition Center of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists - December 2011 "Playful Spirit"
Konstantin Yanov
Margarita's shame - 1973
From December 19 to 25, the Exhibition Center of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists will host an exhibition of works by Konstantin Yanov “Playful Spirit”.
He began to draw early and, perhaps, absorbed the mysticism of the places where he grew up - and these are the places where Hoffmann lived and worked - the Radziwill estate, shrouded in mystery. Due to his father’s official duty, the family moved several times within Poland, and at the beginning of the First World War, in 1914, Pavel Nikitich was recalled to St. Petersburg. Konstantin Pavlovich by this time was already an artist. It is not surprising that, at the age of 13, he was accepted first into the drawing classes of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts, and a year later into the academy, into the workshop of Professor Belyaev. Konstantin Pavlovich always considered Vakhrameev to be his favorite teacher, although he also had the opportunity to study in Rylov’s classes.
Never, not for a single day in his life, did Konstantin Pavlovich stop creating. He drew on scraps of paper, newspapers, and in the 70-80s - on computer paper, pencil, charcoal, paints that he could buy, and worn-out brushes. It was not possible to acquire more worthy artistic materials, despite working in cinema, in different periods and under different circumstances.
